TBH Welcomes Twin Boys As The First Babies of 2024

It was twice as nice at The Bellevue Hospital (TBH) on Thursday, Jan. 4, when the Family Birthing Center welcomed twin boys as the hospital’s first babies of 2024.

Austin Randal Hossler and Logan Joseph Hossler are the sons of Taylor and Sam Hossler of Fremont. The boys are the second set of New Year’s twins ever delivered by TBH.

Austin Randal was born at 12:46 p.m. weighing 4-pounds, 8-ounces. He is 17-inches in length. His brother Logan Joseph arrived one minute later weighing 5-pounds, 1-ounce. He is 18.5-inches in length. The boys were delivered via cesarean section by Stephany George, M.D.

“We knew that we were having twins early into the pregnancy,” said Taylor. “Twins run on both sides of the family, as both myself and Sam have a set of twin cousins.”

Taylor, under the midwife care of Valerie Floro, APRN-CNM, had no idea she was going to be delivering on Jan. 4.

“I didn’t realize I was going into labor until my water broke,” said Taylor. “I called Valerie, and she told me to call the hospital. Once I arrived at the hospital, I was so focused on delivering the boys and their health that I didn’t even think about having the first babies of the New Year.”

The Hossler family received many gifts from local and area businesses for being the first babies born in 2024, including $200 from TBH, and gifts from the hospital’s gift shop and The Bellevue Hospital Foundation.

The family also received various gifts from local merchants, including Amsden House Restaurant, Anytime Fitness – Bellevue, First National Bank, Forget-Me-Not Flowers & Gifts and Vein & Body Specialists.

“One of our nurses mentioned to us that we were going to have the hospital’s New Year’s babies, but we didn’t realize what that entailed,” said Sam. “We were not expecting all the gifts, but we are very appreciative. Thank you to the local businesses and The Bellevue Hospital.”

Maternal grandparents are Leslie and Randal Darr of Fremont. Paternal grandparents are Cheryl and Joseph Hossler of Fremont.
