Accreditations 

The Joint Commission

Our hospital, Laboratory Department and Sleep Disorders Center are accredited by The Joint Commission, which consists of the American College of Physicians, American College of Surgeons, American Medical Association, American Dental Association and the American Hospital Association. We earned the Gold Seal of Approval by demonstrating compliance with national standards for healthcare quality and safety in hospitals. 


Mammography Accreditation

The Bellevue Hospital’s Mammography Department received approval of the Mammography Quality Standards Act (MQSA).  The mammography department is also accredited through the FDA and the American College of Radiology (ACR).


Nuclear Medicine

The Bellevue Hospital’s Nuclear Medicine Department is accredited by ICANL (Intersocietal Commission for Accreditation of Nuclear Laboratories), and by the Ohio Department of Health. 


Diagnostic Imaging

The American College of Radiology (ACR) accredited Diagnostic Imaging in Obstetrics, Gynecological and General Ultrasound, CT Scan, and MRI for three years.

Ohio Department of Health 

The Bellevue Hospital's Nuclear Medicine, X-Ray & Maternity Departments are certified by the Ohio Department of Health.  


American Diabetes Association 

The Diabetes Self-Management Education program has been certified by the American Diabetes Association.


 

Medicare & Medicaid Services

The Bellevue Hospital is approved by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS).


Safe To Sleep Program

The Bellevue Hospital supports the Safe To Sleep Public Education Campaign led by the Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institute of Child Health and Human Development.

Women's Choice Award in Emergency Care  - 2024, 2023, 2022 2021, 2019, 2018, 2017, 2016 and  2015 
This award recognizes The Bellevue Hospital as being in the top one percent for Emergency care in the United States.

 

Women's Choice Award for Best Small Hospitals for Comprehensive Care 2023.

 

The Bellevue Hospital also received a Women's Choice Award for 2021 & 2019 for being one of the best hospital's for Patient Safety. 

 

The Family Birthing Center was also recognized as a 2018 and 2014 recipient of the Women's Choice Award as America's Best Hospital in Obstetrics.

The Women's Choice Award is the only credential that identifies that nation's best healthcare institutions by measuring against the needs and preferences of women, when it comes to treatment and a quality hospital experience.  This credential signifies The Bellevue Hospital's commitment and passion toward an extraordinary healthcare experience for women and all patients.

Gold Level Go Clear Award

In 2022, The Bellevue Hospital earned the Go Clear Award™ for its achievement in eliminating hazardous smoke from its surgical procedures. The Go Clear Award is presented by the Association of periOperative Registered Nurses (AORN) to recognize health care facilities that have committed to providing increased surgical patient and health care worker safety by implementing practices that eliminate smoke caused by the use of lasers and electrosurgery devices during surgery. 


Gold Plate Award

The Bellevue Hospital's Nutritional Services Department was awarded the Gold Plate Award for food safety practices in 2018. The award is administered through the Huron County General Health District. 2018 was the sixth year The Bellevue Hospital received the award. 


Silver Level Healthy Worksite Award

The Bellevue Hospital has received a 2016 Silver Level Award from the Health Ohio Business Council for healthy worksite practices. The award recognizes Ohio employers who demonstrate a commitment to employee wellness. 


Ohio Hospital Association Safety Award

The Bellevue Hospital was honored by The Ohio Hospital Association (OHA) with a 2013-2014 Safety Award. The safety awards were created by the OHA and the Industrial Commission of Ohio to promote workplace safety.
