The Bellevue Hospital (TBH) Foundation has made this Valentine’s Day extra memorable for Alicia Bowersox of Tiffin, OH as her name was drawn as the grand prize winner in the Winter 2024 “Is Your Heart Set on a Vette?” Corvette Raffle.
The winning ticket was #733. A video of the raffle may be seen below.
Bellevue Mayor Kevin Strecker and Timothy A. Buit, chief executive officer of TBH, had the pleasure of drawing Bowersox’s name randomly out of a barrel containing all 2,024 tickets sold for the raffle. As the grand prize winner, Bowersox has a choice of a brand new 2024 Corvette plus $40,000, or $100,000 in cash.
Four runner-up winners each received cash prizes, including Bambi Lynch, Tiffin, OH, $2,024 (ticket #1255); Brian Smith, Fremont, OH, $1,917 (ticket #1176); Jim Robell, Beaverton, OR, $1,500 (ticket #2024); and John Casale, Cooper City, FL, $1,000 (ticket #1201).
“We wish to congratulate Alicia and the other four winners,” said Buit. “We kicked-off this raffle the first week of September 2023 and we accomplished our goal of selling all 2,024 tickets by mid-January."
Continued Buit, “The rate in which we sold out of tickets speaks highly of the integrity of this raffle and the ongoing support we had for this event - support that was not only local but reached across several U.S. states. This fundraiser was successful due to the great effort from our Foundation, Accounting Department, Marketing Department, and numerous volunteers who ensured this raffle was run the right way.”
The accounting firm of Cook, Smith & Company, CPA’s, Bellevue, OH, verified that all tickets were properly filled out and placed in the locked barrel prior to the drawing.
Tickets were sold to people in 47 different U.S. states, noted Dennis Sabo, TBH foundation director.
“I would like to personally thank Gary and Garett Steinle of Steinle Chevrolet-Buick in Clyde. They were the co-sponsor of this event. Also, thanks to the hospital Gift Shop staff, TBH employees and Foundation board members for all the support. We could not have accomplished this project without all their help.”
Due to the growing popularity of the raffle over the last several years, The Bellevue Hospital Foundation now offers two Corvette raffles each calendar year. The next raffle will begin on April 1 and will once again feature a Grand Prize of $100,000 or a new Corvette plus $40,000. Early Bird specials will begin in May with the Grand Prize drawing being held on July 24, 2024 at the TBHF’s golf outing being held at Green Hills Golf Course in Clyde, OH.
