Breastfeeding Basics

The Family Birthing Center of The Bellevue Hospital supports the National Baby Friendly Initiative and the Ohio First Initiative for all babies to be breastfed exclusively for at least 6 months with continued breastfeeding and introduction of solids through the first year.  The Bellevue Hospital has a core measure of exclusive breastfeeding during the hospital stay.

The Family Birthing Center offers a breastfeeding class to all expectant mothers.  Breastfeeding Basics delivers information on basic anatomy, milk production, benefits, "best practice" and going back to work in an informal, friendly atmosphere.

Breastfeeding Basics will help prepare new parents in this exciting journey to parenthood through our informational and supportive class.  The class is offered on Thursdays from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. in The Bellevue Hospital's Burson Room A.  There is a class fee of $10.
