FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

The Bellevue Hospital

March 6, 2003

YOGA CLASSES BEING SPONSORED

BY THE BELLEVUE HOSPITAL

The instructor, date, time, and location have all changed, but The Bellevue Hospital’s (TBH) yoga fitness classes are continuing.

The classes  Wednesday (except holidays) from 6-7 p.m

at the Bellevue Community Center beginning with the January 12, 2005  class.

The classes are now being taught by Certified Yoga Teacher Karen Branco, an employee of The Bellevue Hospital. Class fee is $5 per person, per session.

The yoga classes are open to the public, and are appropriate for any age. The classes focus on various levels of emotional, spiritual, physical, and mental healing.

“Yoga is about stretching and breathing exercises,” said Branco. “Anyone of any age can perform yoga exercises, always ‘listening’ to your body and performing the stretches and exercises as your body allows.” The stretching and breathing exercises are performed both on a mat or blanket, and standing up. Participants go at their own pace.

According to Branco, when relaxation is promoted to the body, ones natural body chemistry is then enhanced, improving mental and physical fitness.

For additional information on the yoga fitness classes, contact The Bellevue Hospital at (419) 483-4040, Extension 4278 or click on our calendar link, or programs & services link.
