Women's Night Out:

THE BELLEVUE HOSPITAL TO
SPONSOR WOMEN’S HEALTH PROGRAM

August 27, 2003

The Bellevue Hospital is sponsoring a Women’s Health Fair, “For Women Only,” to be held on Tuesday, Sept. 9, 2003, at the Club Amer-Ital, located at 600 Southwest Street.

Seating is limited, and advanced registration advised. Cost will be $5, payable at the door. The program will be held from 6-9 p.m.

Food will be offered throughout the evening, as well as health information and health screenings, vendor displays, door prizes, and more. In addition, three guest speakers will make presentations on women’s health topics throughout the evening.

Dr. Gregory Karasik, OB/GYN, on active staff at The Bellevue Hospital, will speak about “Women’s Health Issues,” including prenatal care and delivery, infertility, gynecology, menopausal medicine, and more. Questions will be welcome from audience members.

Mary Wall, M.D., a radiologist on staff at The Bellevue Hospital, will speak on the topic of “You, Your Breasts and Bones.” Her talk will include information about mammograms and the hospital’s new R2 ImageChecker, as well as information about keeping bones healthy and happy during the aging process.

Finally, Bellevue native Peggy Marshall, with Edane Consulting Group, Dayton, will speak on the topic of “Mirror, Mirror on the Wall.” “What is the first thing women say about themsevles when they look into a mirror? It is usually a negative statement. My talk will be about building self-esteem and self-confidence,” said Marshall.

Some of the vendor displays expected will include SASS Salon, Bellevue Public Library, Melaluca Natural Products, Longaberger Baskets, Home Interiors and Gifts, Pampered Chef, Scrap-n-Tree, S&J Travel, EHOVE School of Massotherapy, Tupperware, and several booths representing departments at The Bellevue Hospital.

Also, a thermometer exchange will be held. Participants can bring in their old mercury thermometers and receive a digital thermometer in return, one per customer.

A limited number of reservations will be made available for the Women’s Health Fair.
