Fifth grade students at York Elementary School recently had the opportunity to participate in the REACH program, a career education program designed to provide elementary school students with an impression of of the types of jobs available to them in the future.

The Bellevue Hospital (TBH) was the REACH business partner for the York School students. TBH staff members met with the students once each month, covering topics such as "Exploring the World of Work," " Teamwork & Independence, ", "Habits & Attitudes," and "Communication."

The fifth graders also took a field trip to TBH to look at jobs first-hand. In the photo above, TBH employees Jayne Jarrett, Mary Lou Mittower, Robin Good and Mindy Singleton involve York students Brent Runion, Zach Warner, and Natalie Schoen in the lesson plan for that day.

The REACH Program is conducted through the Sandusky County Chamber of Commerce
