The Prepared Childbirth Class is designed to prepare expectant parents for a positive birth experience.

 Participants will also learn the coping skills and options available to form a personalized birth plan.

The program will include topics of the stages of labor, when to go to the hospital, progressive relaxation, breathing techniques, medications and their uses, Cesarean delivery and labor rehearsal.

Other topics include nutrition, weight gain and anatomy.

 Together, participants will learn what to expect after delivery, and about newborn characteristics.

The last session of the program will address issues for grandparents and assist them in dealing with the changes that have occurred since their children were born.

The group will also take a tour of the Family Birthing Center.
 

The Bellevue Hospital offers Prepared Childbirth Classes, held from 6-8:15 p.m.

The class will be held in the Burson Conference Room at the hospital.

A $30 class fee will be collected.
