The Bellevue Hospital welcomes our First Baby of 2003

The Bellevue Hospital welcomed Baby New Year 2003 with the birth of Katie
Lynn Hicks, daughter of Robin Hicks.

Katie arrived at 12:06 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 2, 2003.

The first baby born in The Bellevue Hospital's Family Birthing Center
in 2003 weighed 7 pounds, 2 ounces, and was 19 inches in length.

"She is a true blessing," said Robin of her infant daughter. "I was
told nine years ago after the birth of my son that I would be unable to
have anymore children, so Katie is a real blessing. God definitely
blessed me."

The Bellevue Hospital President and CEO Michael K. Winthrop presented
Katie with a $200 U.S. Savings Bond. Katie also received the use of an
infant car seat for six months, courtesy of the Bellevue Kiwanis, a
scrapbook, courtesy of the Hospital Gift Shop, and a free infant
massage class at The Bellevue Hospital. Robin also received free
hospital aerobics classes, and additional items from many community
groups and businesses.
