New Medical Office Building

on the campus of The Bellevue Hospital

July 1,  2005  --

NEW MEDICAL OFFICE BUILDING NOW OPEN

Three months after the opening of a new $36 million state-of-the-art hospital facility, the 13,000-square foot medical office building, located directly north of The Bellevue Hospital (TBH), has opened.

Constructed by Monroeville’s Janotta & Herner Company, the medical office building currently houses three physicians, with two more physicians and a counseling center set to move in within the next month.

The building also contains two vacant suites that are currently being considered by other physicians.

“The Bellevue Hospital owns the facility and leases space to the tenants,” noted Michael K. Winthrop, President and CEO of TBH. “We constructed the facility with those physicians in mind who need to respond quickly within the hospital setting.

The close proximity of this building to the hospital allows the physicians to be responsive to patients in a very short period of time.”

The medical facility is being called “Building One” and it contains seven suites, accessible through five separate outside entrances. Numbers have been installed on the outside of the building to help guide patients and visitors to the right specialty office.

Current tenants include:

Suite A – Gregory Karasik, M.D., and Abeer Ahmed, M.D., OB/GYN and women’s health services. Office hours are Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Wednesdays 10:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Phone number is 419.483.2494.

Suite B – Christopher Pensiero, D.P.M., podiatry services. The office is open Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Wednesdays from 9 a.m. to Noon. Phone number is 419.483.2329.

Suite C – New Beginnings Pediatrics, Glenn Trippe, M.D., Melanie Youngblood, M.D., Wendy Millis, M.D., Paul Wnek, M.D., pediatric services. This office will open for business Aug. 1. Until then, patients will continue to be seen at the 815 Kilbourne Street location. Office hours are Monday through Friday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Phone number is 419.483.4122.

Suite D – Philip Hutchison, D.O., general, vascular and thoracic surgery services. Bellevue office hours are Mondays and Wednesdays, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Fridays 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Phone number is 419.483.6655. Dr. Hutchison also has office hours in Norwalk, 278 Benedict Ave., Suite 450, on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. That office phone number is 419.668.6655.

Suite E – Firelands Counseling & Recovery Services. This office will open sometime in late July or early August. Until then, patients will continue to be seen at the 815 Northwest Street location, Building B, Suite C, behind the former hospital building. Office hours are Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Tuesdays 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Phone number is 419.483.6516.
Suites F & G are not currently occupied.

Winthrop noted that this is the first building of what he hopes will be the start of a medical campus adjacent to the hospital. “Over the next several weeks, our Hospital Board members will be studying a master plan for our entire 109-acre site,” added Winthrop. “We want to look toward the future and at the development of the 75 acres we have remaining here.”

For any additional information on The Bellevue Hospital’s Medical Office Building, including availability of the remaining office space, contact Alan Ganci, Vice President of Finance, at 419.483.4040, Ext. 4200.
