THE BELLEVUE HOSPITAL’S MARVIN RETTIGRECEIVES HONOR FROM ROTARY CLUBMay 8, 2003
The Rotary Club of Bellevue recently presented its Community Service Award to Marvin Rettig, Vice President for Development at The Bellevue Hospital.
The award was presented by Scott Hicks, chairman of the Rotary’s Community Service Committee. The award is given annually to an individual who embodies the ideals of Rotary: service above self; promotion of high ethical standards in business and professions; and service in one’s personal, business, and community life. Originally from Holgate, OH, Rettig, his wife, Brenda, and sons Bill and Tim, moved to Bellevue in the late 1970’s. He served as pastor of St. Paul’s Parish until 1988. From 1988-92, Rettig worked for Down Home Foods. In 1992, he went to work at The Bellevue Hospital, where he continues to work today. He is also director of the hospital’s Foundation. He has served on the hospital board of directors; served on the Bellevue Area Chamber of Commerce board for seven years; is a past Chamber president; received the Chamber’s Citizen of the Year Award in 1998; and is a past president of the local Rotary Club. “Marvin’s incorporation of the ideals of Rotary in his family life, his career, and his community service are examples to all of us who aspire to do more than we do today,” commented Hicks when presenting the award. |
