FREE CHILD SAFETY SEAT INSPECTION IS
JUNE 7 AT THE BELLEVUE HOSPITAL

For the safety of our children

            A free Child Seat Safety Inspection will be conducted in the main parking lot of The Bellevue Hospital on Saturday, June 7, 2003, from noon until 3 p.m. Although the inspection is free, those interested must call for a reservation. The reservation toll-free number is 1-800-845-0375.

            The event is sponsored by The Bellevue Hospital, the Ohio Motorists Safety Foundation, and AAA, in conjunction with the U.S. Department of Transportation, NHTSA, and the Ohio Public Safety Council. Approximately 90% of all child safety seats are used incorrectly, according to data provided by the Ohio Motorists Safety Foundation. The goal of this free event is to make sure seats are in safe working order, and to show parents how to correctly install the seats in their vehicles.

            At the June 7 event, parents, grandparents, and/or caregivers will have their car seat installations inspected. Technicians will demonstrate proper seat installation in the vehicle, and discuss any issues with the parents. Child passenger safety material will also be available.

            The car seat inspection will be held from noon-3 p.m. in the main parking lot behind the hospital. Each inspection will take 20-30 minutes.

            The event is free, open to the public, and will be conducted by certified infant seat technicians.
