The Bellevue Hospital Celebrates Reading

with School Business Partners, Ridge Elementary

Ridge Elementary School fourth grader Cassidy Branco, left, and second grader Lauren Raifsnider, show off their brand new bicycles, courtesy of The Bellevue Hospital (TBH).

Michael K. Winthrop, center, president and CEO of the local facility, presented the bicycles on June 1 as part of the end of school celebration at Ridge.

Ridge and TBH are school-business partners. The bicycles were the grand prize in the year-long accelerated reading program.

By reading a set number of books throughout the school year, students earned points and were entered into the drawing for the bicycles.

A random drawing was held for all first, second and third graders, and a second drawing held for all fourth, fifth and sixth graders.

The winners also received bicycle helmets and gift cards from the Bellevue Pamida Store, where the prizes were purchased.
