The Bellevue Hospital's Babysitting Class

BABYSITTERS LEARN RESPONSIBILITIES AT
THE BELLEVUE HOSPITAL’S RECENT CLASS

A total of 25 local and area students have become better babysitters, the result of completing a “Babysitting Basics” all-day course at The Bellevue Hospital.

            The 25 participants met from 8 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. on Monday, June 9 in the hospital’s Conference Center. The class is for potential babysitters ages 11 and older.

            The course introduced the future babysitters to the roles and responsibilities of the babysitter, including how to handle emergencies and illness, the basics of bathing, diapering, and feeding infants, playtime suggestions, and safety and nutrition.

            Each student received a certificate of completion, a handbook, and T-shirt. They also received a certificate for free participation in a CPR class offered at The Bellevue Hospital. Lunch was also provided for the participants.

            Members of the June class included Ben Danhoff, Krystal Price, Tasha Stuart, Miranda Withrow, Sarah Murr, Morgan Conn, Patricia Hofelich, Chelsea Ebert, Brandon Carr, Heather Stein, Christina Giedeman, Angela Yingling, Jordan Hoppe, Brooke Warner, Jarrod Nichols, Stephanie Burdette, Shelbi Meyer, Chelsea McPeek, Sadie Murr, Jamie Hoppe, Chelsea Freeman, Morgan Gray, Kayla Fuchs, and Karlee Keegan.

            The next Babysitting Basics course at The Bellevue Hospital will be held in February of 2004. Additional details will be released at a later date.
