Four local teenagers spent a portion of their summer doing volunteer work at The Bellevue Hospital (TBH) as part of TBH’s VolunTeen Program for kids ages 14-17. From left to right in the photo, Dani Dean, Jasmine Hossler, Robin Coffelt and McKenzie Adkins recently volunteered to help washed and dried the many wheelchairs used in the local facility. VolunTeens also have the opportunity to qualify for a scholarship during their senior year in school. For more information on the program, contact Volunteer Coordinator June Washburn at 419.483.4040, Ext. 4408.
VolunTeens donate time at TBH
A group of VolunTeens at The Bellevue Hospital (TBH) recently donated their time on July 17 to help at the 15th annual wheelchair wash. They also helped to weed the community vegetable garden and volunteer flower garden, and did some cleanup work on the memorial and remembrance plaques under the trees on the grounds of the facility. The group was supervised by VolunTeen Coordinator Linda Irons. Pictured at the wheelchair wash are, left to right, Dani Dean, Corinne Rogers, VolunTeen Coordinator Linda Irons, Greta Brubaker, Megan Brugnone, Kaitlin Myer, and Dillon Berkey. In the second photo, Kaylia Reesman and Madison Raifsnider work at cleaning the memorial plaques. VolunTeens work throughout the year at TBH and can accumulate hours through their senior year in high school to qualify for a scholarship. For information on VolunTeen and Volunteer opportunities at TBH, contact Volunteer Coordinator June Washburn at 419.483.4040, Ext. 4408.
