The Bellevue Hospital (TBH) has a program to improve
care for patients with IV access devices. IV access
patients can now call the TBH Centralized Scheduling
Department and schedule lab work, a port flush, or
medications.
An IV access port is a small, bulb-like device
surgically attached beneath the collarbone. The port is
used to give medications or to draw blood.
Once the call-ahead appointment has been made, a
specially trained registered nurse will work with the IV
access patient to ensure prompt, quality service.
IV access patients can phone TBH 24 hours-a-day at (419)
483-4040 (Bellevue), (419) 547-0074 (Clyde), or (419)
639-2065 (Fremont, Green Springs, Republic). Dial or ask
for Extension 3067 from 8 a.m. until 5:30 p.m., or
Extension 4245 from 5 p.m. until 8 a.m.
