The Bellevue Hospital and the Bellevue Recreation
Department are sponsoring yoga fitness classes. The
classes are held in six-week sessions on Wednesdays from
5:30-6:30 p.m.
The classes are held in the
Shelter House located at the Bellevue Recreation Center,
110 Cherry Blvd. in Bellevue.
Certified Yoga instructor Karen Branco, an
employee of The Bellevue Hospital, teaches the classes.
Class fee is $20 for the six-week session.
The yoga classes are open to the public,
and are appropriate for any age. The classes focus on
various levels of emotional, spiritual, physical, and
mental healing.
“Yoga is about stretching and breathing
exercises,” said Branco. “Anyone of any age can perform
yoga exercises, always ‘listening’ to your body and
performing the stretches and exercises as your body
allows.” The stretching and breathing exercises are
performed both on a mat or blanket, and standing up.
Participants go at their own pace.
According to Branco, when relaxation is
promoted to the body, ones natural body chemistry is
then enhanced, improving mental and physical fitness.

fitness classes, contact Branco at The Bellevue Hospital
