LAMAZE PREPARED CHILDBIRTH CLASSES
The Bellevue Hospital offers Lamaze Prepared Childbirth
classes at various dates and times throughout the year.
Lamaze weekday classes are five consecutive Wednesdays
from 6-8:30 p.m. Lamaze Saturday classes are held on two
Saturday morning sessions from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Classes are held in the hospital's Conference Rooms A &
B and class fee is $30.

Lamaze Wednesday sessions – April 3, July 3, and Oct.

Lamaze Saturday sessions – March 16 & 30, June 8 & 22,
and Sept. 7 & 21.
Classes are designed to prepare expectant parents for a
positive birth experience. Participants will also learn
the coping skills and options available to form a
personalized birth plan. The program will include
topics of the stages of labor, when to go to the
hospital, progressive relaxation, breathing techniques,
medications and their uses, Cesarean delivery and labor
rehearsal. Other topics include nutrition, weight gain
and anatomy. The group will also take a tour of the
Family Birthing Center, learn what to expect after
delivery, and about newborn characteristics.
The last session of the program will address issues for
grandparents and assist them in dealing with the changes
that have occurred since their children were born.
